Two Man Passing Down Field

- Have all the kids line up in two lines on one side of the field
- One line has a ball, each pair of kids is partnered up
- Have the kids run down the field, catching and throwing in pairs, making sure they are catching and throwing with their stick in the direction they are running
- If a player misses the ball, the partner should follow to close the gap for passing

Kamikaze Drill - Split dodge drill

- Short choppy steps, change speed and direction
- run towards each other split dodge
- use shoulders and hips
- Sell it one way, come back the other way
- Change to the other way (left to right, right to left)
- Optional make 2 additional lines to pass and catch before and after split dodge

Ground Ball Train

- Line up all one one side of the field, need about 20 yards wide and width of a field
- Idea is for kids to get alot of repetition with ground balls
- 3 types of ground ball work, kids go back and forth across the field
- Roll ball to self, double move escape (face dodge, roll, split dodge) go to sideline and then to start the other way
- Start with ground ball at feet, kick with foot, hockey with stick, double move escape
- roll ball out accelerate through it

Defensive Footwork
Footwork - Defensive Stance Sideways Pokes
- Players get into a defensive stance
- Side Step and poke
- Get muscle memory on poke checking when side stepping
Footwork - Front and Back Pedal
- Setup cones in two lines about 5 yards apart
- Player breaks down and approaches a cone as potential ball carrier
- Player drives their heel into the ground on the backpedal
Footwork - Back Pedal Drop Step
- Setup cones in a zig zag pattern about 5 yards apart
- Player works on back pedaling and drop stepping to change direction
- Start at 50% work on toe to heel transistion
- Then go full speed

Notre Dame Asterisk Drill
A drill to help proper defense footwork muscle memory
- Build a plus sign with cones, each part of the plus sign is a quadrant
- Line up the kids in one line and have kids go through each quadrant of the plus sign
- The kid runs to the middle of the plus sign and uses that as a basis for where his man is
- The kid then practices sliding, half slides and recover, show and no go
- Have each kid work in each quadrant for 10-20 seconds
- After the first kid is done with the first quadrant have him rotate to quadrant 2 and another kid go into quadrant 1
- On the 4th quadrant roll a ground ball to the kid, have him scoop and return it to the coaches feet

Alley Defensive Drill
Focus on lift checks, v-checks, push with bottom hand
- Setup 2 stations of 10 cones in a zig zag pattern
- Each cone placement should be about 10-15 yards apart
- One defensemen and one offense run the zig zag
- Offense works on dodges, defense works on footwork
- Defense shadows punches with the bottom hand and drop steps
- Players run through station 1, switch roles and then go back through station 2

Ladders & Pushups
- Stride Run - Facing forward foot in every other rung
- Speed Run - Facing forward both feet in every rung
- Icky Shuffle - Facing forward, lateral step left to right into each square
- In & Out - Turn sideways both feed in each rung
