Time Drill
5 Min Active Stretching
5 Min Coaches Introduction
10 Min Two Man Passing Down Field

  • Have all the kids line up in two lines on one side of the field
  • One line has a ball, each pair of kids is partnered up
  • Have the kids run down the field, catching and throwing in pairs, making sure they are catching and throwing with their stick in the direction they are running
  • If a player misses the ball, the partner should follow to close the gap for passing
5 Min Water
5 Min Defense Approach with Ladder
  • Place a ladder on the field
  • After the ladder put a cone about 7-8 yards away
  • Have a kid or coach with the ball on the far cone
  • Kid runs through the ladder, settles then properly approaches his man, making sure to stop on his heals


10 Min 1 v 1 GB Turn Hips Side Run
  • Have two lines of kids
  • On either side of the line, have 4 cones going out in a straight line
  • Coach is in the middle of the two lines about 8 yards away
  • Kids face the coach on the whistle they must turn their hips, run down the line of cones, then turn back the other way, meet in the middle
  • Coach rolls out a ground ball, kids fight for it, then whoever wins it clears it past the coach


5 Min Water
10 Min 3 Man Drive & Feed From X
  • 3 guys in the drill, have kids break into 3 lines
  • 2 guys top of the box on either side of the alley, 1 guy below GLE on the right side
  • Left top starts with the ball, passes quickly to top right guy, who passes to the guy behind the goal
  • Guy behind the goal goes to x, and starts to dodge to one side, then redodges back to the other side
  • Middies on the top must recognize which guy is in the opposite side and cuts to the goal, while the last guy fills his position
  • The cutting guy shoots, the X guy backs up the ball


5 Min Water
15 Min Noke Offense
  • Numbers and Areas on the field
  • Crease positioning
  • 5-1, 5-3 - Dodging with a purpose, get to the far pipe, if you don't win the dodge dump to 2
  • 2-1 and 1-2 - aka yellow
10 Min 53 & 35 Sweep Shooting on the Run

15 Min 4 on 4 half field

Great competition drill that teaches soft hands on offense and quick ball movement.

  • Have the kids split up with dark vs light
  • Have each team run for 5 minutes in offense and defense and keep track of who wins
  • Setup 5 cones around the goal, the cones are in a star pattern with the top of the star at the top of the goal about 10 yards away
  • Have the defense on the back 2 cones behind the net
  • Have the offense on the top 3 cones
  • Place a goalie in the net and use tennis balls
  • Coach throws a ball to an offensive player and it turns into a 3v2
  • Defense has to adjust to the man and talk to stop the ball from going in the net

The losing team has to do extra pushups or sprints
