Notre Dame Whirlpool Passing Drill
Notre Dame Whirlpool Drill
- Use as many goals as you can
- 6 Person Drill, form 3 lines, 2 at X, 2 at GLE about 10 yards away from the goal, and 2 at the top of the alley opposite the GLE guy
- The top Alley guy starts with the ball, does a corner dodge toward the goal and makes a pass to the guy at x
- The guy behind gives an outlet pass, presenting stick in the air hitting the guy on the run to the opposite side of the goal
- The GLE guy cuts down the center crease receives a pass from the X guy and then passes back to the Alley top line

Duke Transition Drill
- Works on quickly moving the ball quickly after the GB
- Put two goalies in the cage
- Two goals 40 yards apart, place 2 cones on the side line 10 yards apart
- Have two groups of kids and decide if you want to play 2v2, 3v3, 4v4
- Kids line up on the center cones, intermingling themselves
- Coach rolls the ball and they release to fight for the ground ball, the next players line up and get ready
- Whoever gets the ground ball, is on offense and they push in transition trying to score, if ball is shot or dropped the drill is over
- The game continues and keeps score until time runs out or the score is reached
- Rules:
- 1. Get GB = Play Offense (Emphasis on Ground balls)
- 2. Dropped ball - Rep Over (take care of the ball)
- 3. "D" can play "O" if intercept a pass, picks it up right away, goalie makes a save
- Alternative: You can have both teams play Offense but put a 20 second reps
- Alternative: You can add skills, like faking or on ball picks etc
- Alternative: The losing team has some sort of punishment like running

Stations: Face Offs and Defensive drills

Coach Dave Defensive Drills
- Dodge, Bounce Redodge - 1v1 up a cone sideline
Goal hop half arc
- One of line of defenders behind the goal
- start on one side of the goal behind
- Have a defender with no stick playing with another guy with a short stick
- The short stick starts on one side of the goal and moves to the other side
- The defender goal hops and engages his man a few feet behind GLE
- When the offensive guy his 5 yards out, the defender closes the gate
- Offensive guy does and inside roll and the defensive guy funnels him back to X
