Time Drill
5 Min Active Stretching
  • Bring tennis ball bag
10 Min Passing and Catching
  • Where to position hands when throwing and catching
  • Pass and take a step back
10 Min Walk the Line Drill
  • Have players line up and be synchronized, walk a line with air saving, top right, top left, bottom right, bottom left
  • Make sure second foot moves
10 Min 3 Cone Shuffle
  • Setup 3 Cones with 3 feet in between each
  • Start ready position behind center cone
  • Shuffle left bend down at the waist to touch the cone, then shuffle back to touch the far cone
  • Shuffle back to the center and get in ready position
  • Touch the cone with your top hand
  • Variant: Throw a tennis ball at the goalie to save
10 min Shot to quick clear, shot to roll
  • Four shot progression: Pop Pass, Rollout Left, Rollout right, Rebound
  • Make a pop pass from ready position
  • Roll the crease on the side I shoot to
  • Take a shot, get a rebound or GB and making a pass on the run
10 Min Weak side on Knees
  • saving on the middle weakside is tough
  • coach throws balls to the off side
  • goalie focus on really getting that underhand movement while driving the top hand to the ball
  • Sweep the top hand to the ball, move the top hand in straight line to the shot
  • Bottom hand punches out to aid in quick rotation
10 Min Hug pipe and drop step
  • When a girl comes around the crease, step out and go stick to stick, back pedal to recover ground, or girl will shoot around
10 Min Eight Meter shooting
  • Use Tennis Balls
10 Min Back to the Goal turn and save
  • Goalie in cage with back to ball
  • One goalie passes to a coach and yells pass
  • Goalie turns accepts shot and saves
10 Min Rapid Fire Shooting
  • Line up 20 balls 10-15 yards from cage
  • Shooter shoots, goalie saves and throws to the side, the shooter shoots as quickly as they can
  • Goalie should return to a good stance as quickly as possible
10 Min Blind Reaction off the Wall
  • Have goalie stand facing a wall
  • Someone shoot tennis goalie in ready stance and makes save off wal
  • Stand further back to make it easier
10 Min Eye Focus Drill
  • On concrete bounce a ball and catch while looking straight down
  • On concrete bounce slightly off to the side for perf vision
