Time Drill
5 Min Active Stretching

Cones, Balls, Coaches Bag, Shot Blocker

10 Min Rhythm passing drill
  • Use 5 cones
  • Setup the cones in a box with a middle cone. Off the middle cone we go 6-10 yards out
  • Kids stand on the middle cone, cut towards a cone and receive the pass
  • Catch on the outside, cradle, turn and make the pass


10 Min Saint Drill - Two over the shoulder passes each time a player goes (go all right handed, then all left handed)
  • Start with 4 lines 15-20 yards on each side of the middle of the goal and top of the box
  • Two Goalies in the middle of both lines
  • balls start down low, passes to same side high, passes to the goalie, runs up field catches from goalie over the shoulder
10 Min Spoke passing drill
  • Cone in the middle, with 4 cones about 10-15 yards away
  • Kids pile in middle, pop-out receive pass catch on outside, switch hands and pass to the next guy popping out
10 Min Continuous 3 v 2
5 Min Shell Drill - Coach Nat St. Laurent

Goal of Drill: The defense is working on their footwork and approach to the ball. You can incorporate your scouting reports into this drill and practice taking away what your opponents want to accomplish.

  • 5 v 4 or 5 v 5
  • two guys down low, guy on crease, two guys up top
  • Move the ball, defense adjusts and returns to the hole, always cover the crease
  • No shooting, if goalie he adjusts



5 Min ND Cadet Clear to x v x
  • Starts as a 3v3, goalie clears
  • 3 lines up top of o mids and d mids, one of the o mids is "one more"
  • Defense passes to the guy that yells "one more" and turns into 4v4
  • Same thing happens, then next o mid yells "one more", until its a 6v6
20 Min 3 vs 0 low clear to stacked 4 v 4
  • Make a midline
  • Have two defenders and goalie break out in a clear, have 4 clearing middies up top in a rectangle in stacked with 4 riders. It's a 7 v 4 clear. Clearing works on stretching the field, drawing and dumping. Far side works on onside responsiblity


5 Min 2 on 2 with 2 feeders

Goal is to practice the 2 crease men working together.

  • Put a goalie in the net
  • Put two feeders behind the goal on either side
  • Have a single ball, the feeders can pass to each other
  • Have 2 offense and 2 defense in front of the net
  • The 2 offense must work together to get open to get a feed from a feeder
  • Picks, repick
