Time Drill
5 Min Active Stretching
10 Min Star Drill
20 Min Faceoffs and 53's and 21's with cutters
10 Min Dodge, Slide and Recover
  • Defending below GLE
  • Have two trash cans in the middle, with four defenders around
  • Place two cones behind GLE on either side of the goal
  • Coach yells ball back left/right, defense adjusts
  • Coach yells dodge and the closest guy slides, and the guy dodged on recovers
  • Back or "2" guy states he has two and communicates
  • Make sure your back is never to a defender


10 Min 3Man Dodge, Slide, and Recover
  • Same setup as above, but add two cones at the top of the box
  • Coach yells ball top right/left or ball bottom left/right
  • Coach yells dodge, and "hot" man slides
  • "2" men call out "two" and cover from the inside out


10 Min Top side approach and take away the middle
  • In standard D how to approach the top
  • Cone in the "hot" position with a line of guys
  • Come top right with a line of guys
  • Pretend ball comes from top left to top right
  • Crease guy runs at 45 degree angle towards the top guy and takes away the inside with one step behind
  • Lines up the forward hand with the guys shoulder
  • Run him down the alley
