Active Stretching
- What we did wrong
- Offense was stagnent, and waited for everyone else to do something with the ball
- Clears our midfield and attack in general were standing still, need more movement
- More positive energy, guys need to pump eachother up
- Need to run plays to initiate movement
- North/SOuth East/West needs to be activated
- Can't play scared, scoop through the ground balls
- Accept getting hit, play on, playing with fear does nothing. Once you overcome the irrational fear, your life can truly begin
- Focus on the ball and be more aggressive, when you are passive or bracing for a hit, that's when you get hurt

4 Man Ground Ball into a 3v3
This drill was invented by Paul Myers. The goal of the drill is to reward the player who wins the ground ball with the opportunity to play offense. Defensively, this drill helps players drop back to the hole quickly and to find a man to cover.
- Put a goalie in the net
- Have 4 lines of guys at equal distance around the box (one line in each corner)
- Have 2 additional lines of guys, one on each side of the box, in between the 4 guys fighting for the ball
- The coach rolls the ball out, the 4 lines battle for the ground ball. The winner of the ground ball must break out, protecting the stick and the 3 guys that lose are now on defense
- Upon possession, 1 guy from each of the middle lines runs out, and is on offense with the winner of the ground ball and the drill transitions into a 3v3

4-3 Clears
- Defense work on Banana Cuts, R-Line, Wide Turn Away
- Banana cut - two Defense low banana cut staying parallel to goalie outside restraining line, facing the goalie
- R-Line - 3rd defender goes to a top of box, if he's covered, take him to the alley near mid line (away from box), if he's not covered sub for a middie who goes over the line (make sure a middie stays back)
- Wide Turn Away - If the defender is doubled or in doubt, wide turn away and pass to the other side of the field
- middies clearing will need to know flag, maverick, turn to the outside, pinch,
- Flag motion 1-2 seconds straight then move towards the end lines
- Maverick - middie cuts back to the end line and turn to the outside as its least likely to get doubled
- Pinch - if the defensive player is running up the side, the middie clears through but staying onside (keeping the way clear)
- always have 3 middies ready to sub. 1st one subs on for defensemen, and into the offensive half of field, 2nd stays on side, 3rd goes to offensive side
- Deep - the two middies run deep and the goalie tries to hit them
