Time Drill
5 Min Active Stretching
10 Min 3 Man Passing with 2 Balls

A great alternative to line drills, kids get many touches.

  • Have the kids break into groups of three
  • Have two kids be about 20 yards apart
  • The 3rd kid should be in the middle of the other two players
  • The two outside kids should each have a ball
  • The kid in the middle should run at an angle towards a player and catch on the outside hand
  • Kid should run to the opposite side and pass again to the same passer
  • Middle kid should then make an athletic move and receive a pass from the other side


10 Min Salisbury Motion Offense to 4v3

Drill can be run as a 3v2 or 4v3, starts as a motion/transition offense drill and then morphs into a 3v2 or 4v3.

  • Get 4 offensive players and 3 defensive players
  • Setup in a loose triangle if 3v2 or a loose square in a 4v3
  • Have the top right guy with the ball run down the alley with a defender mirroring him
  • The player with the ball pops out and makes a pass back to the next player rotating to his position
  • The 2 lower players rotate and be ready for the 4v3 or 3v2

10 Min Notre Dame Whirlpool Passing Drill
Notre Dame Whirlpool Drill
  • Use as many goals as you can
  • 6 Person Drill, form 3 lines, 2 at X, 2 at GLE about 10 yards away from the goal, and 2 at the top of the alley opposite the GLE guy
  • The top Alley guy starts with the ball, does a corner dodge toward the goal and makes a pass to the guy at x
  • The guy behind gives an outlet pass, presenting stick in the air hitting the guy on the run to the opposite side of the goal
  • The GLE guy cuts down the center crease receives a pass from the X guy and then passes back to the Alley top line



10 Min Stations: Attack/Middies - Offensive Skeleton - Defense: Double Team

Skeleton Offense

  • Clearing through
  • Backside cut into an exchange
  • When driving from 32 opposite side attack sneak from X to the 1 GLE and look for a quick pass
  • Trigger
  • Pizza and Roll
  • Middie shoots start chasing to X

Defensive Double Team

Double Team Drill

  • Players match up one-on-one running from the midline down the side alley.
  • Defender drives dodger down the alley, stays on his back hip/shoulder.
  • Once the offensive player crosses the restraining line, he tries to break across the line marking the side of the box.
  • A second defender slides from the middle of the “heart” to prevent the dodger from entering the box.
  • Focus on sliding under control, maintaining the double team and communicating.
  • The original defender should prevent the dodger from rolling back when the slide arrives.

10 Min Whole team to do faceoff's
  • 10 Min of instruction
  • 5 min of king of the hill
10 Min Station: Goalie Practice and Fast Break unsettled

Dave: to work with goalies

  • Connor, patrick, and someone else

Tom: to work on unsettled fast breaks

  • 4 v 3 implosion or
  • start 2 attack at midline and 1 down low, have middie start at opposite box
